-Trauma Therapy
It’s not your fault for what happened to you, you might be holding that pain and shame for long & that might have shaped your perceptions & prevented you from living a fulfilling life. You may be feeling overwhelmed, unsafe and isolated, and maybe not so sure whether you can even feel better. Your reality is valid and so are your feelings. People’s perception of who you are is not the truth of who you are. You don’t have to betray your authentic self and be a people-pleaser just to survive. Neuroplasticity shows that the brain can change throughout life, it’s the truth that our minds and bodies are made to heal.
Some Major Traumatic events, but not limited to:
- Domestic or family violence, dating violence
- Community violence (assault, shooting, burglary, racist attack)
- Emotional, physical, sexual abuse
- Sudden death or violent death of a loved one (suicide, accident)
- Being a victim or witnessing violence
- Serious car accident
- Life-threatening illness or major surgery
- Natural disasters (hurricane, flood, fire, earthquake)
- Experiencing war or political violence
Complex traumatic experiences can include but are not limited to:
- Experiencing neglect or abandonment
- Emotional abuse, scapegoating, manipulation
- Growing up with emotionally unavailable/abusive parents
- Having a parent or caregiver with an undiagnosed mental illness
- Experiencing parent's divorce or witnessing violence
- Constantly moving
- Death of a loved one

You are more likely to have developed c-PTSD if you experienced trauma at an early age, were harmed by someone close to you, it lasted for a long time and escape was impossible. Even if you have experienced abuse and trauma as a child, there is hope in the unique adaptability of our miraculous brains and nervous system. Together we can build your renewed sense of personal self-worth and ultimately recalibrate your life.

People tend to think of the long-term effects of trauma as psychological, but in fact, the body and brain both experience lasting biological changes. Burnout, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, pain, weight gain, gut issues and chronic fatigue are all part of the predictable patterns of stored trauma. To find the way out, we at Nafs Healing help you understand the biology that predisposes you to trauma and keeps you stuck in fear, insecurity and inflammation.
